Subject Guides

Bold Solutions Network Subject Guides offer donors the opportunity to find and fund promising solutions to the world's biggest challenges through curated collections of top proposals on the issue of interest. While the Bold Solutions Network also allows donors to sort proposals based on their philanthropic interests by using the search box on the home page or the “Explore Solutions” link in the upper right-hand corner of each page, these subject guides offer donors an easier and more compelling way to discover and compare highly-rated proposals in a given issue area. Please click the links below to download the subject guides.

Lever for Change will periodically update this page to include additional Subject Guides. For donors interested in providing significant financial support to Bold Solutions Network proposals, Lever for Change is happy to answer questions about the projects and/or broker connections to the organizations. If you are interested in these services or want to request a curated collection of top proposals in another issue area that is not featured on the Subject Guides page, please contact Dana Rice, Vice President of Philanthropy.

100&Change Top 100 List

100&Change is a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation competition for a single $100 million grant to help solve one of the world’s most critical social challenges. The competition was open to organizations and collaborations working in any field, anywhere in the world. This subject guide offers a comprehensive list of the highest-scoring 100&Change proposals, designated as the Top 100. This Top 100 list offers brief project descriptions, a link to each of the project's profile pages on the Bold Solutions Network, and links to the project overview videos submitted by organizations as a part of the application process.

Recognizing that there are new challenges related to the pandemic in today's environment which did not exist when the proposals were submitted in summer 2019, we offered the Top 100 applicants an opportunity to share their early-stage thinking about the potential impact of COVID-19 on their 100&Change projects in the spring of 2020. View an analysis of their responses in this blog post from Cecilia Conrad, CEO of Lever for Change.
